Purpose Driven Grace (smile)

I often hear of how we are in a "season of grace". A common mindset seems to suggest that it frees us up from responsibility for personal holiness. This is sometimes used as an excuse to live as one pleases, and to not take personal responsibility for one's actions. People will say that their sins are forgiven before they even commit them because of grace. If that is true, then I wonder what we should do with Titus 2:11-12 which says:

"The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age." (NIV)

In my limited understanding, it seems to me that instead of providing me a quick fix to ease my conscience of my lifestyle and choices, the grace of God is the means by which I am enabled to live right.

Blessings,
